Visit Historic Stockholm

Stockholm has something for everyone.  Historic Gamla Stan is the beautiful old town of Stockholm.  There are dozens of various museums to explore.  For shopping lovers, a visit to Norrmalm is a must.

See the Best Skaters in the World

Watch the best skaters in the world compete at the Ericcson Globe. World Champions will be crowned in Ladies, Mens, Pairs, and Ice Dance.  The Ericsson Globe (Globen for short) is an attraction in itself. Take a ride on the Skyview, a gondola on the outside curved wall that offers a beautiful view of Stockholm.

There is no lack of museums to visit in Stockholm. Many are unique to Stockholm. Photography aficionados must visit Fotografiska to view contemporary photography. History lovers must visit the Vasa museum. The Vasa is a salvaged ship that sank in 1628 and is the centerpiece of the museum. ABBA fans can visit the only ABBA museum in the world! The Medieval Museum is another option for history lovers who wish to learn about the daily lives of medieval Stockholmers. There are multiple options for art lovers. The Moderna Museet, the National Museum, and Liljevalchs Art Gallery are only a few of the options.

All visitors must make time to stroll through historic Gamla Stan with its cobblestone streets and gold buildings. There are attractions, restaurants, cafes, bars, and places to shop. Make sure to check out the 600 room Royal Palace where the King of Sweden lives. The Stockholm Cathedral built in 1279 is also situated in Gamla Stan. The Stortorget is the oldest square in Stockholm and near it the narrowest alley in Gamla Stan is only 90 centimeters wide at places.

Norrmalm is the main area for shopping and lodging. Nordiska Kompaniet (NK) is an ultra classy department store and a city landmark. If you are looking for more variety visit Gallerian, Stockholm's first shopping mall. Visitors can stay at the Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel or the Lydmar Hotel. Both are within walking distance to many attractions (and a short public transport ride to the rink!)
